Parent Volunteer Commitment Due to the needs of young children it is important to keep the ratio of adults to children low so everyone's needs are met and safety is the top priority. This follows the Government Licensing guidelines of 1 adult for every 8 children.
The volunteer commitment at our preschool is fairly small but important. Each parent/grandparent/significant adult will need to commit to approximately 4/5 volunteer dates in the classroom (you provide your availability every 2 months in advance). This number will increase if your child's class is not at full capacity of 15 students. Opportunities will also arise for field trips & celebration days and extra parent helpers will be required for these special days. Volunteers will be required to provide a clear Criminal Record Check prior to volunteering. There are no fundraising obligations.
Examples of help volunteers may provide: -supervising a small group of students in the classroom -supervising proper hand washing routine with children -assisting students participating in a craft/project -wiping down tables before and after snack, sweeping -disinfecting toys and surfaces used during the class -reading stories to children -preparation of materials (cutting, setting out craft supplies)
